Circlesong & Impro Singing Workshop
After more than 25 years of practicing the voice, I’m beginning to experience the connection between the different dimensions of singing, integrating artistic, technical, somatic, musical, emotional, relational, energetic and even spiritual aspects…
Circlesong, with its very free yet inclusive form, allows me to integrate these different dimensions into a playful and vibrant continuum, enabling everyone to reclaim their singing, their voice, and more broadly, their creativity.
During these four days of Circlesong Bootcamp, we will immerse ourselves into an intensive practice of the different aspects of Circlesinging and vocal improvisation:
- Pulse, rhythm, body percussion
- Vocal improvisation, vocal games
- Harmony, intervals, spontaneous composition
- Breathing, vocal technique
- Connection, conducting, etc.
The Flow teaching approach allows us to work together in a playfull and fluid way, even with very different levels and styles. Whether you are a complete beginner, an occasional singer or a professional, the structures offered will allow you to play and progress!
Our workshop venue, located in the heart of the Préalpes d’Azur Natural Park, is perfect for an intensive immersion workshop, while remaining very accessible.
It is possible to stay on site (see practical information below); a kitchen and dining room are at your disposal.

Beginner singer, is this course suitable for me?
As human beings, voice and singing are among our most fundamental natural abilities.
Omnipresent in all cultures around the world, in forms that almost always include improvisation, singing was a part of our daily lives just a few decades ago: work songs, harvest songs, sea shanties, etc.
It is only recently that singing has been ‘confiscated’ to become an object of listening (or more rarely of expertise), rather than a field of creativity and connection between human beings. In most traditional cultures, singing does not require any special training or talent. Each member of the group simply has their own voice.
This is the basis on which this intensive Circlesong and improvised singing course will be established. Starting with play, connection with oneself and with others, we will develop the different aspects of vocal improvisation.
Whether you are a beginner, an amateur or a professional singer, Circlesong allows everyone to work and progress at their own level, while remaining connected to the group.
NB. The Circlesong Bootcamp is a singing workshop for adults. For young people aged 15 to 17, parental authorisation will be required.

Amaël Ferrando
My path led me to explore singing in different contexts, from lyrical singing to classical Indian singing, and improvised jazz singing which I studied at the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam and at the Berklee College of Music (Boston), and finally to Circlesongs…
I also practice and teach other vibrational approaches: Systema, Nidra Yoga, Qigong and especially the Taoist tradition of Qigong Tuina which I studied for nine years in Beijing.
Circlesong is for me a way of unifying these different aspects: voice, movement, energy, corporeality and spirituality, rhythm, instant composition and musical improvisation. Everything is there, everything is created in the moment and is transformed every moment.
